The presidency of the ÖVV
A change in the management

Due to career-orientated reasons Robert Walzer won’t be able to be the manager of the ÖVV in the following months. That’s why the vice-president of the ÖVV Franz Kirchweger will be responsible for his duties until the new election in the year 2010.

He is supported by the other elected members of the presidency Konrad Teni, Gerhard Schlatter, Walter Ziehlinger and the president of the ÖVV Rudolf Bräuml. The new election will take place during the next delegates’ conference in the Dorfsaal in Tauplitz, province of  Liezen, Styria on the 17th of April, 2010.

 

Hiking days of the IVV:
St. Nicola, province of  Perg, Upper Austria

The hiking day won’t be cancelled!
The IVV hiking day in St. Nikola im Strudengau on the 5th of December 2009 will be organized by the ÖVV, as we have announced in the programme of the year 2009.
Start and goal: Hotel “Zur Post”, Austria-4381 St. Nikola/D. 31, Tel.: 0043/7268/8140
Distance: about 8 kilometers
Start: 9 am till 1 pm, End: about 4 pm

 

An award for Rudolf Esterer

About six years ago, that is to say in the year 2003, Rudolf Esterer started the webpage of the ÖVV and he is still responsible for it today. During the hiking world championship Rudi looks after the non-German speaking participants and he always does so very well due to his good command of languages.

To say thank you for his great help he was awarded the golden “ÖVV-Ehrennadel” at the opening event of the hiking world championship in the Grimminghalle in Bad Mitterndorf on the 24th of September 2009 by the vice-president Franz Kirchweger and the Geschäftsführer of the ÖVV Rudolf Bräuml.

 

The Marathon Cup 2010

The Marathon Cup will again be offered in the year 2010. There will be a small change, as compared to 2009. However, this change will be an advantage for the hikers.

Every participant will receive a certificate stating the number of the marathon events he has participated in and a pin. The names of the participants who have participated in five or more marathons will be mentioned in our newspaper “Der Wanderer” and on the Internet on “oevv-wandern.at”. Like in every IVV event there won’t be a time limit (hiking without any pressure).

The price for the Marathon Cup 2010 is 8 euros.
You can buy the pass at every ÖVV event and in the ÖVV office.

The criteria:
All the allowed IVV marathon events in Austria (including all the permanent marathons of the ÖVV, always one time) and three marathons of the IVV worldwide will be counted. They count if you participate successfully, as is shown by the stamp of the IVV in the Marathon Pass 2010.
The closing date for the pass of the Marathon Cup 2010 is Wednesday the 1st of December, 2010.

 

The glass trophy of the ÖVV:

It was already presented to the participants in Tauplitz. Many of them were enthusiastic. The new trophy can be placed in the club house, in the “Wanderer-Stüberl” or in your flat in a striking place.

There are two types:

1.) Glass trophy “Teilnahmewertung” It is available for 500, 1000, 1500… participations. Rectangular, vertical format: 185 x 145 mm Price: 29 euros

  

2.) Glass trophy “Kilometerwertung” It is available for 500, 1000, 1500… kilometers. Octagonal, format: 160 x 150 mm Price: each 29 euros
